Standing With Our AFCM Philippines Family After the Earthquake

On June 8, 2026, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, near General Santos City — one of the most powerful earthquakes to hit the Philippines in fifty years. In the moments that followed, homes buckled, power and water lines were cut, and communities across Mindanao were left reeling from the aftershocks that continued for days.

Among those affected are members of AFCM Philippines, a ministry partner of RCC Ministries, Inc. These are not strangers to us — they are family. Brothers and sisters who have served faithfully on the front lines of the Gospel now find themselves in urgent need.

The toll on our family

In the days since the quake, our AFCM Philippines partners have shared the heavy reality on the ground:

  • Families displaced from homes that are no longer safe to live in.
  • Communities without utilities — left without electricity, clean water, and basic services.
  • Properties damaged or destroyed, leaving members to start over with little.
  • Churches damaged — the very places where these communities gather, worship, and find shelter.

Why this matters

For these congregations, a church is so much more than a building. It is where families gather for hope, where relief is organized, where neighbors come to heal. When a church is damaged, an entire community loses its anchor in the hardest of times — and the families who lead and serve there are often the ones who give everything to help others first.

How you can help

RCC Ministries is standing with AFCM Philippines to bring immediate relief and to rebuild what was lost. Your gift will go directly toward:

  • Food, clean water, and emergency essentials for displaced families.
  • Repairing and rebuilding the damaged church buildings at the heart of these communities.
  • Coming alongside affected members as they recover and restore their homes.

Every gift — of any size — becomes shelter, restoration, and hope for a family that has lost so much.

Thank you for standing with our AFCM Philippines family. Together, we will help them rebuild — stronger, and not alone.
